The UK Government is in the process of forming a new sanitary and phytosanitary (SPS) agreement with the EU, which will cover the trade and movement of plants, plant products, animals, animal products, food and feed. It is expected to take effect in mid-2027.
The Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra) has produced guidance to help businesses prepare.
