Government guidance on online dispute resolution

The Department for Business, Innovation and Skills (BIS) has published guidance for businesses on online dispute resolution (ODR).

From January 2016, the European Commission will set up an online platform (the ODR platform), which will allow consumers who have a complaint about a product or service bought online to submit the complaint via an online form to a trader based in another European country.

All online traders and marketplaces will have to include a link on their website to the ODR platform, whether or not they currently sell to consumers in other member states.

The guidance can be found in the further reading section of 'Alternative dispute resolution'.
